Battlefield 6 Hidden Secrets, Collectibles & Easter Eggs: Complete Location Guide
The Stuff Nobody Tells You About
DICE has been hiding easter eggs in Battlefield games since 2002. BF6 continues the tradition, and some of these are genuinely well-hidden. I spent an embarrassing amount of time hunting these down, and the community on Reddit and the Battlefield Discord filled in the gaps I missed. Here's everything we've found so far.
Campaign Dog Tags (All 9)
Every campaign mission has one hidden dog tag. They're not marked, they don't glow, and the game never mentions they exist. Finding all 9 unlocks a multiplayer calling card that I've seen maybe three other players using.
Mission 1: Behind the starting spawn point, there's a small fishing shack. The dog tag is pinned to the wall inside. You have about 30 seconds before your squad moves out, so turn around immediately when the mission starts.
Mission 2: Underwater, beneath the oil platform's southwest leg. You need to jump off the platform during the outdoor section. There's a diving suit in the equipment shed that extends your underwater time. I drowned twice finding this one because I didn't grab the suit first.
Mission 3: Behind the frozen waterfall near the mission start. Look for a patch of ice that's slightly more blue than the surrounding ice - that's the cave entrance. The dog tag is on a crate inside the ice cave.
Mission 4: In the bell tower of the cathedral. Climb the stairs to the top. The tag is hanging from the bell rope.
Mission 5: On the helipad, inside the cockpit of the crashed helicopter. You have to climb onto the wreckage from the rear rotor.
Mission 6: In the commander's office, inside the desk drawer. You need to interact with the drawer - it doesn't glow or prompt you. Just walk up to the desk and press the interact button.
Mission 7: Inside a destroyed tank on the main street. The hatch is partially open. Crawl inside.
Mission 8: On the bridge of the enemy ship, pinned to the navigation console. Find it before the ship starts sinking or you'll drown trying to get back.
Mission 9: In the HQ basement, on a shelf in the server room. This is the same room with the weapon crate (code 2042). If you're getting the railgun, you'll see the tag on the shelf to your left.
Multiplayer Map Secrets
Every launch map has at least one easter egg. The community has found seven so far.
Hourglass: Shoot the bell in the clock tower three times. A skeleton in a top hat spawns in the building across the street. Zero gameplay effect, tbh. It's just funny.
Breakaway: There's a penguin colony on the far edge of the map beyond the playable area. Use a sniper scope to see them. If you hit one with a bullet, a deep voice says "rude" through your speakers. DICE's sound team has a sense of humor.
Manifest: The shipping container marked with a yellow "404" has a computer terminal inside. Interact with it and it displays a QR code. The QR code links to a DICE job application page. Peak corporate easter egg, I guess.
Exposure: The cliff face has a hidden cave entrance about halfway up the map. Inside is a drawing of a dinosaur with the text "Megalodon was here" - a callback to the BF4 Megalodon easter egg that took years to find.
Stranded: The shipwreck has a locked door with a keypad. The code is 1942. Inside is a golden PPK pistol (a James Bond reference) that one-shots any enemy. But it only has one bullet and doesn't respawn. Use it wisely.
Spearhead: All the computer monitors in the facility display the same screen saver - bouncing DVD logo. If you watch long enough for it to hit a corner perfectly, it plays the BF theme. I waited 15 minutes for this and it was not worth it.
Flashpoint: The lighthouse at the edge of the map blinks in morse code. The message spells "DICE 2025." Pointless but charming.
The Battlefield Portal Editor Secret
Battlefield Portal returns in BF6 with a full level editor, and there's a hidden menu in the editor itself. Create a new project, name it "dinosaur", and place exactly 42 prop objects on the map. The editor unlocks a hidden prop category called "Legacy" that contains assets from BF1942, BF2, and Bad Company 2. These aren't available in the normal prop menu.
This was discovered about a week after launch by a Portal creator on Twitter. DICE confirmed it's intentional. The 42 number is a Hitchhiker's Guide reference.
Real-World References
A few locations in the game are based on real places. The Baltic town in Mission 1 is modeled on Visby, Sweden - the medieval wall section is nearly identical to the real thing. The alpine facility in Mission 5 resembles the Swiss military bunker complex at Sasso da Pigna. The HQ building in Mission 9 is loosely based on the Tour Montparnasse in Paris.
These aren't secrets exactly, but knowing the real locations helps with orientation and stuff like that. If you've seen photos of the real places, you'll recognize the layouts.
What Hasn't Been Found Yet
There's at least one major easter egg still undiscovered. DICE's community manager hinted on Twitter that something in the campaign changes if you complete all missions without firing a single shot (where possible). The theory is that a fourth ending exists. Nobody has verified this yet because Mission 3 requires you to fire the tank's main gun at least twice. Maybe there's a way around it. Maybe not. If you figure it out, you'll be internet famous for about a day.
Multiplayer Dog Tags and Unlockable Melee Weapons
Beyond the campaign collectibles, multiplayer has its own set of hidden unlocks. Each map has unique dog tags earned by performing map-specific actions. On Hourglass, revive 10 teammates in the flooded district to unlock the "Drowned" tag. On Breakaway, destroy the ice bridge with explosives and the "Icebreaker" tag pops. On Manifest, get 5 roadkills in a single match and you get the "Forklift Certified" tag, which is genuinely the funniest thing in the game.
There are also three secret melee weapons. The first is straightforward: get 100 melee kills total and you unlock the combat knife variant. The second requires 50 kills with the defibrillator - yes, the defib can kill enemies with a full charge. It's humiliating and wonderful. The third is obscure: find and interact with all 7 map easter eggs (the ones I listed above), then melee kill the top-hat skeleton on Hourglass. This unlocks a golden crowbar that's purely cosmetic but flexes on everyone who sees it.
I've only seen the golden crowbar once in 40 hours of multiplayer. The guy who had it went 3-17. Worth it.
Why Bother With Collectibles At All?
Honest answer: most of this stuff is pointless. The dog tags are profile cosmetics. The secret weapons are sidegrades at best. The easter eggs are funny for about 5 seconds. But hunting them teaches you the maps in a way that just playing objectives doesn't. You learn which walls break, which corners hide sightlines, which buildings have multiple entry points.
When I hunted the Manifest QR code terminal, I memorized every shipping container layout on that map. Now when I play Manifest in multiplayer, I know routes that most players don't. The collectibles are a vehicle for map knowledge. The cosmetics are just the excuse, honestly.
